Are you facing unexpected events and challenges?
Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Or frustrated?
Living day to day with:
- Health issues?
- Financial uncertainty?
- The pain and stress of divorce?
- Unemployed or disturbed older children?
- The prospect of retrenchment or being forced into retirement?
- The emotional and financial strain of supporting elderly parents?
You are not alone. There are many, many people facing these difficulties.
While you think that your next-door neighbour is thriving … it may not be true! The illusion of living a trouble-free life is often an uncomfortable and stressful facade.
So if our lives are in a hole how do we get out?
Start with a simple life audit. What is working and what is not? What resources (financial and skill) do you have to solve the problems?
First step - get rid of anyone or any baggage that's dragging us down.
Then engage with optimistic and motivating people. People who lift you up. People who provide support when you ask them. Expecting nothing in return.
Challenging, guiding, leading, assisting and enabling you. Helping you discover the many opportunities and ways that you can change, enhance or enrich your life.
Encouraging you to push your limits. Being truthful (however painful this may be!). Guiding you along your path.
Recognising and working through your biases. Helping you to come to terms with yourself. To develop clear and meaningful desires and plans. And make them happen.
Helping you get the most out of your health and wealth.
At times some of our views may be controversial and may challenge your beliefs and traditions. We have, or can find, experts who can guide, support and mentor you. Whether you want to get into shape, move overseas, start a new career, look your best or feel your best.
The world will never be like it was. We will never be like we were. So, we need to find the spark to challenge ourselves to find our own path.
Make this the best time of your life.
So, who am I?
Now in my mid 70's. Living an active, interesting, and challenging life. Like everyone I've been through some difficult and painful periods including divorce and two major accidents.
The one, a motor vehicle accident. where I was trapped in my car for over 5 hours … while emergency rescue people tried to figure out a way to get a tanker truck off my car ... without crushing me to death. The other was a messy cycling race accident. It's legacy - a steel pin in my hip and metalwork in my pelvis.
Through being fit and strong-willed, supported by the skill of some excellent medical mechanics, I’m in reasonable physical shape. Moving on after clearing these two unexpected life hurdles.
I've had a corporate career. I've started small businesses that failed. I've enjoyed some business opportunities that led to some financial success. I’ve had good and horrible investments.
With both success and failure and a lot of ordinary in between, I suppose that makes a pretty average life.
Since turning 65 I've lived and worked in the Philippines, travelled around the world through Asia and the Americas, started learning Spanish and spent our Covid confinement trapped in South Africa. We are now living our next adventure after moving to Portugal. The Spanish learning is now Portuguese, and we are settling into an interesting way of life.
I am a lifelong fitness and health enthusiast. Now a regular walker and sometimes jogger (staggeringly slow!) added to a mix of strengthening (currently bodyweight and bands), regular stretching and the occasional yoga session.
So don't waste another valuable second. Join my community of optimistic, adventurous, never say die souls now!
Make yourself and your life the best it can be.
